We have been many years to the Gaylord Texan ICE! in Dallas, This year was the first your that Moody Gardens in Galveston tried to replicate what they are doing in Dallas.

A skilled team of 31 internationally-acclaimed professional ice carvers from Harbin, China will dive into 900 tons of ice and transform them into majestic marvels featuring holiday scenes with the beloved Bikini Bottom inhabitants from Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants. Chilled and held at a temperature of 9 degrees, you can witness these works of art as Galveston makes its holiday transformation into a Winter Wonder Island in Galveston Island.

Ice! 2012 Gaylord Texan - DreamWorks' Merry Madagascar

An amazing display of hand-carved Ice sculptures made my artisans from China brought in just for this magnificent display each year. Made with over two million pounds of ice. It is very cold inside at only 9°F.

We have been to every ICE! Exhibit since the Gaylord Texan first started it in 2008.

2011 ICE! Shrek The Halls @ Gaylord Texan Resort

We had to go to the new ICE! at Gaylord Texan Resort featuring DreamWorks' Shrek the Halls. We have been every year the Gaylord has done this.

Master carvers spends nearly a month of 12-hour shifts inside a 9-degree freezer, transforming two million pounds of ice into a breathtaking winter wonderland This is a truly spectacular 14,000-square-foot ICE! exhibit that features a variety of magical scenes and sculptures hand-carved by 40 visiting artisans from Harbin, China. This winter wonderland created with Two Million pounds of ice and kept at a wintry 9 degrees.

Here are a few of the photos we took as we froze! If you have never been you should go at least once, as it is a bit steep in price.

This year they have recreated Shrek and all the characters from the movie.  We are amazed every year we go at the attention to details the ice artisans do.  What a wonderful hotel and resort  They truly know how to get you in the Christmas Spirit.
