We find out what we are having in one more week! So we thought this would be a fun thing do to. We found so many Old Wives Tales online that predict the baby's gender. Here are a few that we did. Any prediction method that is not backed by scientific evidence is called an old wives' tale. Many people swear these prediction methods worked for their pregnancies. Watch the video to see our results!

The mother's stomach: If a woman carries the baby high in a large and round belly, she is carrying a girl. A protruding belly carried low indicates a boy. This tale is often not true because a woman's body shape and pre-pregnancy health determine how she carries the baby.

The mother's face: An expectant mother whose face grows round will have a girl. Some tales also claim that the mother's nose grows longer or wider during pregnancy when a woman has a girl. A woman whose face narrows during pregnancy will have a boy. Despite the tale, weight gain in the face during pregnancy is usually not related to baby gender.

Baking Soda Test: Using a fresh box of baking soda and ad one or two teaspoons to cup and add enough urine to cover the baking soda. If it fizzles like beer or a carbonated beverage it is likely to be a boy. No fizzle, then a girl it will be.

Acne: Some believe that pregnancy acne means you will have a girl. However, hormones can cause acne during any pregnancy.

Back pain: Back pain may indicate a girl. In reality, back pain can occur during any pregnancy depending on weight gain, baby position, and the condition of your back.

Baby's Heart rate: A girl baby has a fast heart rate, around 170 beats per minute. A boy baby's heart rate is closer to 150 beats per minute. This is an unreliable prediction method because the baby's heart rate will fluctuate throughout the day.

Wedding ring test: Hang your wedding ring from a string and hold it over your belly. If the ring swings in a circle motion, you are having a boy. If the ring swings back and forth, it is a girl.

Key test: Pick up a key. If you grabbed it by the top, you are having a boy. If you picked it up by the bottom, the baby is a girl. Picking the key up in the middle means that you will have twins.

Drano test: The Drano test is a modern old wives' tale. Pour a tablespoon of Drano in a cup and urinate into the cup. If the urine turns blue, the baby is a boy. If the mixture turns green, you will have a girl. Not only is this false, but Drano is dangerous and very bad for the environment, so we did not do this one.

Garlic test: Eat a clove of garlic. If eating the clove makes you exude a strong garlic scent, you will have a boy. If there is little to no odor, you will have a girl. Well we passed on this one..no thank you!

Red Cabbage Test: A baby gender prediction test that involves testing for urine pH using a red cabbage indicator. The science behind this baby gender prediction test is pretty simple. Theoretically, your urine pH (how acidic or basic it is) changes based on whether you're pregnant with a boy or a girl. Red cabbage has pigments in it that are sensitive to pH and turn a different color based on how acidic or basic a solution is. This test says that a pink/red color indicates a boy and a purple color indicates a girl.

Skin: If your skin is dry, you’re said to be having a boy – and if it’s soft, then a girl is on the way.

Wedding Ring Test: Get your wedding ring and attach it with a strand of your hair or some string. Lie down and dangle the ring over your belly. If it starts moving in circles, you are having a boy, or if it moves like a pendulum from side to side, then you are having a girl.

Morning Sickness: Did you experience morning sickness in early pregnancy? If you did, then you’re said to be carrying a girl, but if you didn’t have morning sickness, then it’s a boy.

Chinese Lunar Calendar: Legend says that the gender chart is more than 700 years old and was discovered in a royal tomb. It predicts your baby's sex based on your Chinese lunar age at the time you got pregnant and the Chinese lunar month in which you conceived.

Mayan Calendar: Mayan's use numbers to determine the sex of your baby. They take the mothers age at conception and the year of conception and add them together.

If the result is a even number then mom is having a girl. It the result is an odd number then a boy is on the way. Odd numbers are belived to be masculine and even numbers are believed to be feminine.

Lefty or Righty:When you sleep, do you sleep on your left? Because if you do, then it’s a boy for you! On your right, a girl is in sight.

Sweet or Salty? Are you craving sweet foods like juice, fruits and chocolate? if so, old wives say that you could be having a girl. But if you’re craving sour or salty foods, then you could be having a boy. It’s also said that if you are having a boy, you will crave protein like meat and dairy.
