We have officially begun our spring vegetable garden. Brandon did a great job tilling the soil today and making the rows. After several years of working with this soil, it looks great. It is nice and loose for planting. This year we plan on planting jalapenos, tomatoes, Yukon gold potatoes, red potatoes, broccoli, squash, cucumbers, and lettuce. Our asparagus should be ready this year to pick and eat being it has been growing for 2 years now. I worked on the planting today after Brandon made the rows. I planted two varieties of onions and also planted our potatoes (Yukon and red). The garden already looks great and we can't wait to plant the rest when it comes time. The vegetables always seem to taste better when they are home grown.
UPDATE: 1/31/2011--We just pulled up the onions, as a Winter Blast is coming to town, going in the teen's, not good for any plants, will try again next weekend. LOL
