Weekend in Review!

A busy weekend!!! We needed to get the Vegetable Garden ready for the spring, so we got it done before the weather got cold!

We finally got our door in at Home Depot. Took some time to paint and now is hung up. I was wanting to get the dry wall up but, it is too rainy and snowy to transport the sheetrock home. I can't wait to get a Truck!

And, now Sunday, it has snowed all day long! Not as much as last year They say it won't be above freezing for the next 3 days.

We went to see the movie Tangled in 3D; finally a Disney movie that was not Pixar. And there was no one out at the theaters. I guess everyone is scared of the snow and cold.

Now time to relax by the fire and have some Hot Chocolate!

Installing a Pocket Door

So I have decided to install a pocket door, which I have never done anything like this before!! This will help us so when we walk past our dining area, the door will not swing in our way. Plus, we have never liked these doors. Here are some photos so far!

Time to remove the studs without damaging my drywall on the other side. I do not want to redo the Sheetrock, would be too hard to match the texture, and paint and so on...

After a long battle, all the 2x4's are removed,
without damaging the drywall on the other side!

The framing for the new rough opening is complete.

Now I am waiting on FedEx to deliver my Pocket Door Frame/Hardware. Then I hope by next week Home Depot will have my door that we ordered. It will match the other doors in our house. Pretty good to find a matching door for as old as our house is!
